Diffuser Blends

Our (often overlooked) sense of smell has been known to have a powerful effect on our mood and the right scents have been shown to do absolute wonders for helping you find some relief and calm after a stressful day at work or running around after the kids.

When, in search of optimizing your day-to-day wellbeing, you explore the shelf full of essential oil options it can be all too easy to just close your eyes, pick one and hope for the best. But not all scents are created equal! There are certain diffuser blends that smell immeasurably better and invoke a deeper state of calm and peace than others.

Diffuser Blends For Stress Relief

Diffuser BlendsLavender & Geranium

These two classic scents work together to create nothing less than a sedative effect on a stressed-out nervous system. Lavender has long been used to aid insomnia, relieve headaches and the geranium adds a sweet herby note to this delightful blend.

Lavender & Rose

Lavender is popular, accessible and has a diverse range of uses so it’s being called on once again. But it’s rose oil that’s the star player here, as it adds a crisp and sweet floral note that will transport you to toasty Summers spent drinking Pimm’s in English gardens. Top tip: rose oil is often confused with rose hip but the two are very different!

Cedarwood & Frankincense

If florals are not your kind of thing and you prefer more earthy aromas, then cedarwood and frankincense might be just the diffuser blend you need. Cedarwood has the added benefit of containing antiseptic and antifungal properties, making it good for both your body and your mind.

Sweet Orange & Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang is known for having a deeply relaxing effect on the nervous system, but instead of simply slipping into unconsciousness it’s offset by the sweet and uplifting scent of orange. So, if you’re looking to escape from stress but not at the expense of your concentration this is the blend for you.

We all have days where we feel overwhelmed and stressed and, in times like these, there’s not a lot better than coming home and hotboxing yourself with some of these delightful scents as you soak in the tub or sip a glass of wine and unwind. If you don’t have a diffuser, you can also add a few drops to your bath, or combine your essential oils with water in a misting bottle to spray around the house and on your pillow.
